Three simple ideas sit at the centre of the app. Nothing exotic — just tools that help you decide how much of your browsing sticks around.

  1. Private tabs

    Open tabs meant for browsing you'd rather not keep around on your iPhone, side by side with your everyday ones.

  2. Clear browsing data

    When a session is over, remove the browsing data the app has stored on your device in a few taps.

  3. Tracker protection

    The app aims to reduce the number of trackers that follow you from page to page while you browse.

One session, start to finish

Here is how the pieces fit together on a typical visit to the web.

  1. Open a private tab

    Start a session apart from your regular tabs, for the browsing you don't plan to keep.

  2. Browse as usual

    Read, search and shop while tracker protection works in the background to cut down on tracking.

  3. Tidy up when you're done

    Clear the browsing data the app saved on your iPhone, so less of the session is left behind.

Can I download ShieldSurfing today?

Not quite yet. We're getting the app ready for the App Store, and as soon as it's published a download link goes up on this page.

Will it run on my iPhone?

ShieldSurfing is an iPhone app. The minimum iOS version and other requirements will be confirmed on its App Store listing at release.

Does it cost anything?

Some features may be offered through an optional App Store subscription. Prices and conditions are always shown in the app and on the App Store before you pay.
